Alexander Muñoz Godoy


Alexander Muñoz Godoy is a Chilean classical guitarist with an internationally active concert career. He began his musical studies at the age of 16 at the Universidad de Chile, where he studied with Ernesto Quezada and Miguel Álvarez, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Performance with a specialization in Classical Guitar. He continued his artistic training in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar under Prof. Ricardo Gallén, completing his Master’s degree in 2025. He is currently pursuing a Konzertexamen at the same institution, with a focus on chamber music. Alongside his performing career, Alexander Muñoz Godoy is actively engaged in music education within the public education system. He has been the recipient of five scholarships supporting his artistic development, including the Charlotte Krupp Stipendium from the Neue Liszt Stiftung, as well as continued support from the Fundación Guitarra Viva Ernesto Quezada. He has participated in thirteen national and international competitions, earning numerous prizes, including first prizes in Argentina, Bulgaria, Panama, and Bolivia. His artistic activity also includes recordings of contemporary Latin American repertoire and regular performances as a soloist and chamber musician in Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Argentina, Panama, Bolivia, and Chile.
