Nikolay Mihaylov-Founder and Artistic Director

Nikolay Mihailov is the creator, main organizer and Artistic Director of the Pleven International Guitar Festival.

Nikolay Mihaylov is a teacher of classical guitar, chamber music and musical ensembles at the National School of Arts “Panayot Pipkov” – Pleven. He is the founder and organizer of the Pleven International Guitar Festival.

In 2018, he became the recipient of one of the most prestigious awards of the Ministry of Culture: the “Golden Age” badge of honor – a seal of Tsar Simeon the Great – gold and a diploma for his contribution to the development and strengthening of Bulgarian culture and national identity. In the same year, Nikolay Mihailov was nominated in the “Young Leaders of Pleven” art category, an initiative organized by the Municipality of Pleven, subsequently winning his category.

During the period 2013-2024, Nikolay Mihailov was awarded several times for outstanding merits in the field of art, as well as for contribution to the development of the classical guitar by the Municipality of Pleven, the Lions Club-Pleven, the Rotary Club of Pleven and the international forums in Omiš, Croatia; Sinaia, Romania, Kyustendil, etc.

Nikolay Mihailov is a graduate of the “Pancho Vladigerov” National Academy of Music, and in 2014 he completed his master’s degree in the guitar class of Assoc. Dr. Rosen Balkanski. Over the years, his teachers were Associate Professor Alexander Pumpalov and Lyubomir Anov.

During his studies, he created various formations and compositions, with which he won a number of awards. His activities in film music and sound design, reflected in a number of short films, have brought him international appearances and awards.
